About Mirai™

Capsule inhalers have been with us for over sixty years. For the most part, they use piercers to open the capsule and rely on the spinning of the capsule to deliver the powder. There are several disadvantages to these devices. They are reliant on the patients’ inhalation technique. They can also get stuck in the inhaler which results in a patient not getting the intended dose or consistency. The piercing also generates potentially harmful particulates.

The Mirai inhaler does not use any piercers. An additional benefit is the device is all plastic, which is an important consideration for recycling and sustainability. It is also rugged enough for many uses, and because there is no metal, can be rinsed with water.

The Mirai device design is clean, modern and fits easily into a pocket. The design is global – it is low cost but at the same time, is versatile enough for a wide variety of traditional and spray dried formulations. The platform has been designed for size 3 capsules as well as size 0.

The Mirai inhaler is protected by strong, pending, intellectual property.
